Fancy a go at drawing? Children draw to express what they are feeling and thinking. Drawing is an especially important outlet for children who do not have the verbal skills to communicate their feelings. It engages the brain in a way that language can’t and allows ideas, thoughts and abstract dreams to be communicated. Since the dawn of human art-making, the divide has been clear: there are people who can effortlessly sketch an object's likeness, and people who struggle for hours just to get the angles and proportions right (by which point the picture is scarred by eraser marks, anyway). It simply doesn’t matter though; what does matter is the willingness to try and the encouragement to carry on. And biscuits; there are always biscuits!
