Strengthening our community by encouraging acts of mutual kindness
Do it yourself, also known as DIY, is the method of building, modifying, or repairing something without the direct aid of paid experts or professionals. There are strict laws and regulations on interfering with gas, water or electricity so a qualified person will always have to deal with these, but decorating, putting up shelves, putting together cupboards or desks and painting fences; that kind of thing, can be done by anyone able to do so. If you need help then ask at the Time Bank; we have members who can wallpaper, paint, drill and nail for you. Of course, you will have to do something in return but until it’s your time to step up, tea and cake will always help the paint go on quicker!
