Fundraising Initiatives
Partnerships with platforms like Easyfundraising, and the Essex Lottery to raise funds for the organisation.
To support its operations and expand its reach, the organisation engages in various fundraising initiatives. One key avenue is Easyfundraising, a platform where members can raise funds simply by shopping online. By using the Easyfundraising app, members can generate donations from thousands of retailers, with a portion of their purchase price going directly to the Centre without any additional cost to the shopper. The Centre is also registered with Amazon Smile and the Essex Lottery, both of which allow supporters to raise funds while making everyday purchases. These fundraising initiatives are vital for the sustainability of the Centre, as they help cover running costs and fund new activities. The Centre encourages members to use these platforms whenever possible to ensure the organisation can continue its important work in the community.
Through these comprehensive services, the organisation creates a vibrant and connected community where individuals can support one another, share skills, and overcome challenges together. By offering practical assistance, emotional support, and opportunities for personal development, the Centre plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for its members.
In December 2024, we received enough funding from Essex Community Foundation to save us from closing the Centre, as at the time we didn’t have enough to pay the next month’s rent. The funds received will keep us going for up to a year. It gets harder every year to obtain Core Funding to cover rent and utilities, whereas if we could get Capital Funding to buy a larger premises, we could probably become self-financing.

Why Volunteer?
The main object of Time Banking is to help people to help each other, by exchanging skills and information, for Time Credits rather than money. This can be in the Time Bank Centre, at individual members’ premises or in groups, such as our walking group, the Clacton Walking and Social group.
