The Centre offers a variety of social and activity groups that bring members together for leisure and learning. Regular activities include Art and Craft Days, which allow members to explore their creative side, and Family Research sessions, which provide support for those tracing their ancestry or building family trees. For men seeking a space to connect with peers, there is a Men Only afternoon, fostering social interaction and camaraderie. Additionally, the Centre hosts Drop-in sessions where members can play board games or cards. The selected games, which use tiles with colours and numbers, are inclusive and designed to ensure that conditions like dyslexia, autism, or brain injuries do not exclude anyone from participating. These activities serve as a way for people to meet, bond, and share moments of relaxation, contributing to their mental and emotional wellbeing.
About Us
Mind Referrals
Because our premises are small and welcoming, we have had many referrals from Mind, for people with nervous dispositions or social anxiety.
Donations
Donations of collections of items such as foreign stamps that need sorting into countries and sets, so duplicates can be offered for sale in smaller packets, as with packets of buttons that have been sorted, and many books and jigsaw puzzles.
Why Volunteer?
The main object of Time Banking is to help people to help each other, by exchanging skills and information, for Time Credits rather than money. This can be in the Time Bank Centre, at individual members’ premises or in groups, such as our walking group, the Clacton Walking and Social group.
