Volunteering and Community Engagement
Members can volunteer for tasks like sorting donations, decorating, admin work, and managing the Centre’s website and social media. The Centre also collaborates with community groups to promote Time Banking in the Tendring area.
Volunteering is a core component of the Centre’s activities. The organisation welcomes volunteers for various tasks, ranging from sorting and managing donated items, such as stamps, buttons, books, and puzzles, to dressing the Centre’s windows to reflect important calendar events like Christmas, Easter, or the Centre’s anniversary on St. George’s Day. These contributions help create a welcoming and festive atmosphere at the Centre. Volunteers also play a crucial role in the administration, handling tasks like tracking Time Credits earned and spent, maintaining membership records, and running activity reports. The Centre also needs volunteers to maintain and promote its website and social media platforms, helping to raise awareness about Time Banking and attract new members. Through these volunteering opportunities, individuals can contribute to the smooth operation of the Centre while gaining valuable skills and experience.

Mind Referrals
Because our premises are small and welcoming, we have had many referrals from Mind, for people with nervous dispositions or social anxiety.
Donations
Donations of collections of items such as foreign stamps that need sorting into countries and sets, so duplicates can be offered for sale in smaller packets, as with packets of buttons that have been sorted, and many books and jigsaw puzzles.
Why Volunteer?
The main object of Time Banking is to help people to help each other, by exchanging skills and information, for Time Credits rather than money. This can be in the Time Bank Centre, at individual members’ premises or in groups, such as our walking group, the Clacton Walking and Social group.
